No. 5661 Kavita Gundappa Lamani is shown as a Scheduled Caste candidate. However officials from the Social Welfare Department confirm that Lamani is not listed as Scheduled Caste in Goa.
Another female candidate for the same post of Police Sub-Inspector at serial no. 3. Appln No. 1147 is Shibani Shabi Shet Tanawade in the general category who had failed in 3 of the 5 fitness tests including running and high jump. As these tests were video recorded the authorities can confirm this from the records. Is this candidate the niece of Goa BJP President my friend Sadanand Shet Tanawade? Favoritism and nepotism all the way. Will merit ever be the sole criteria in every selection? We should try to succeed by merit, not by favour.
