The service road near the traffic signals near Nuvem-Majorda Junction on national highway (NH-66) - Margao Western Bypass (Verna-Nuvem-Navelim section) need to be extended in order to effectively serve all the vehicular traffic which goes towards Majorda-Cansaulim-Velsao direction without waiting near the traffic signals. The service road (Nuvem-Majorda Junction) which starts near the present traffic signals causes inconvenience to all the vehicular traffic going towards Majorda-Cansaulim-Velsao direction. All the vehicular traffic going towards Majorda-Cansaulim-Velsao direction comes to total halt near the traffic signal even when the directional arrow points green signal. The vehicular traffic going towards North direction and the vehicular traffic going towards Majorda direction are squeezed in, thereby causing unnecessary obstruction and delays. The unnecessary delays could have been avoided if the service road is extended by another 200 meters beyond the present traffic signals location point. Finally, as precautionary measures, the concerned road engineers and road designers from NHAI and PWD roads division (Goa) should inspect all the other service roads at all other major road intersections points in order to make sure that the traffic signals do not cause unnecessary hardship to vehicular traffic using the service roads.
