This is with reference to the editorial "Goa does not need anti-conversion law - The Goan Everyday - August 27, 2026". Rightly stated, Goa does not need anti-conversion law. Yes, in fact, why such a law in any other state in the country? Religion as everyone understands is purely a personal affair, then why government interference in this matter, that is the question. Speaking of communal harmony, well, our country is a melting pot for different cultures, communities, languages, religions, etc, and people have been living in peace and harmony all along. The government must leave the issue of religion alone and let people decide their path to salvation. All efforts must be made to maintain our unity as we know, ‘unity in diversity’ is our greatest strength.
