When an IAS officer does his job with diligence and dedication and becomes a phenomenon does it mean that other IAS officers do not do their job with the same diligence and dedication? Not at all. Most IAS officers work diligently. Then why has IAS officer Tukaram Munde become a phenomenon? Tukaram Munde, a Maharashtra cadre IAS officer was posted as the FDA commissioner of Maharashtra. Incidentally, this post is considered to be the least glamorous of postings. Some look at it as a punishment posting. (Tukaram Munde has been transferred 25 times in 21 tears). Obviously his work has not gone down well in the corridors of power. So how did Munde turn the posting into one that suddenly looks glamorous? Simply because he has done his work without fear or favour and he is not afraid of stepping on the toes of his political bosses.
