The Science Film Festival of India 2019 which is set to embark on its 4th edition from January 16 to 19 at ESG complex, Panaji held pre-fest activities across the state of Goa wherein visits to educational institutes with a scientist to show films/documentaries based on science to the students. The aim is to enable the enthusiastic, impressionable young minds to interact with distinguished Scientists specialized in that particular subject.

The milestone in completing 100 schools was celebrated at Mount Litera Zee School (Vasco), Purshottam Wallavalkar High School (Mapusa) and Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science (Margao) as the 75th, 50th and 25th institute. At the 100th institute, Matoshri Indirabai Baburao Khandeparkar High school as being part of the Goa Vidyaprasarak Mandal (GVM) management, students from five other GVM institutes attended the event. The school hosted a spectacular forum of science, with a distinguished panel of guests. The event was also graced by Suhas J Godse, president of Vidnyan Parishad Goa, who briefed the audience about the highlights of the festival. Abhay Bhamaikar listed the coverage and the success of the festival in the previous years along with the pre-fest of 2019, covering 79 schools, 15 higher secondary schools, 6 colleges up to date, with 47 resource persons, out of which 40 are doctorates and seven are research scholars. Vidnyan Parishad, in association with the department of Science & Technology, government of Goa, National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) and Vidyan Prasar are now looking forward to hosting the 4th edition of the Science Film Festival of India 2019. Various films based on enrapturing science concepts will be screened to captivate the interest of the eager students, from January 16 to 19 at ESG complex in Panaji.
