Decades before Sunburn or Supersonic electronic dance music festivals were ever conceived, the Goa Food festival was one of the biggest food and cultural show in the state. Thousands of families, students youngsters, flocked to the event, which was one of the most looked forward to gigs of that era
Recently, in a bid to recreate some of the old magic, the state government has decided to initiate the event with a slight twist in the form of the Goa Food and Cultural Festival 2016 which will be held from April 6 to April 10 at D B Bandodkar Ground, Campal in Panaji
This year, the five-day event has an exciting line up of events and activities which span a wide range. Right from cooking competitions to live music to live distillation units. The aim of the festival is to serve as a platform that will offer tourists varied slices of Goan food lifestyle right along with a blend of mainstream Indian and Western flavours.
Music and dance at the Goa Food and Cultural Festival 2016 will be performed by a virtual galaxy of music groups right from our own Goenchim Noketram and Kepemchim Kirnnam to the venerable Indian Ocean. Some of the other groups and performers who will be performing as part of the Goa Food and Cultural Festival 2016 are Dance to the Beats, Rhythm and Blues, Lagori, the Big T Band, Bollywood Hip Hop and Dance Fusion, Thermal and Quarter, Taaq, Bad Blood and One Night Stand etc.
