We're not even halfway through the current campaign but Barcelona fans appear to have been given a sneak peek of the Spanish club's kits they will don next season. Images leaked online recently suggest the Spanish side will be wearing light blue and brown on their travels next season, while the designs will also carry the logo of new sponsors Rakuten for the first time.
Lionel Messi, Neymar and Co will don their familiar home colours during Nou Camp matches, although the stripe dimensions are different to this season's jersey. According to Mail Sport, Barca chiefs have been working on the club's new-look jerseys since February. And it appears those designs have now been rubber-stamped after the Spanish daily posted pictures of the three designs online.
Rakuten will don their jerseys for the first time during the 2017-18 campaign after replacing Qatar Airways as the club's title sponsors. Last month, Barcelona signed a huge sponsorship deal with the Japanese firm worth £200million in a significant show of commercial strength from the Spanish outfit.
The four-year agreement, with an option of a one-year extension, which will see the Rakuten logo feature on Barcelona's shirts from next season, enters the Catalan club into a tier of shirt-sponsor revenue matched only by Manchester United. Barcelona see Rakuten, who call themselves 'Japan's largest internet shopping mall' as an ideal partner in their bid to expand the club's brand in Asia.
