INDIA bloc’s surgical strike will be put to test on June 4

GUILHERME ALMEIDA | MAY 11, 2024, 12:47 AM IST

What’s the take of political commentators on the electoral prospects of the BJP and Congress after a grueling battle for the South Goa seat? Even as citizens are engaged in unending poll calculations, pose the question to Congress candidate Viriatbab Fernandes. Do not be surprised if the ex-Naval Captain says the INDIA bloc has successfully carried out a surgical strike against the saffron brigade. Wait and watch as the Captain has exuded confidence that the surgical strike will be more felt in the Ponda-Sanguem belt. For confirmation, contact Captain’s war zone.

CM’s visit at Moti Dongor on polling day baffles all

Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant’s visit to migrant-inhabited Moti Dongor has thrown up more question than one. For, questions are raised in political circles whether the CM descended on the hillock on his own or upon an invitation from Congress-turned-BJP MLA Digambarbab Kamat. CM’s presence at Moti Dongor on polling day has left observers baffled, more so when Diggu has been presiding over the hillock as the Baba. None other the CM knows for sure how Diggu had repulsed all attempts by the saffron brigade to storm Moti Dongor before the MLA defected to the BJP. Interesting, isn’t it.

Visit to migrant areas: Is GF chief bracing up to enter Margao?

Has Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai laid the foundation for his entry into friend-turned-foe Diggu’s bastion Margao during campaigning for the May 7 Lok Sabha polls? Vijaibab’s presence at the migrant-inhabited areas of Margao, including Moti Dongor, Fakir bandh, etc, has indeed raised many an eyebrow in political circles, throwing up a moot question whether the Goa Forward chief is bracing up to enter Margao, at a time when the seven-time MLA is grooming son Yogiraj. Wait till June 4 for an answer.

Salcete bigwig under scanner of friends, foes over ‘Vitamin M’

Who’s this Salcete politician, who has come under the scanner of friends and foes during the last days of the Lok Sabha election campaign? Well, if sources are to be believed, this heavyweight has been accused of drafting his staff and workers in the run up to the May 7 poll, but for a different job – to stuff envelops with Gandhi notes before workers fanned out to the constituency to distribute Vitamin M doses to the voters. Any takers?

Churchill’s plea on wedding timings echoed by CM too

Varca strongman Bab Churchill’s plea to relax wedding timings makes reading interesting. For, Churchillbab’s plea has come at a time when Chief Minister Pramodbab has echoed similar sentiments.

What’s, however, interesting to note is while Churchillbab has made the plea in favour of the Catholic weddings, the CM seemed not averse to the plea since Goa is fast emerging as a wedding destination. Interesting, isn’t it when common Goemkars have been knocking the doors of all and sundry for sound relaxation all these years.
