Navelkars seemed confused over the political developments unfolding in the Navelim panchayat. When ousted sarpanch Paul Pereira had assumed office after the panchayat polls with the support of BJP member Damodarbab Chawan, the ruling group drew flak from certain quarters over the question of forming the panchayat with the saffron brigade. Paul is now voted out of office after his group was reduced to a minority in the 11-member body after Damodarbab switched sides and signed the no-confidence motion. Wait and watch as Navelim is bracing up to elect a new sarpanch.
