It has indeed come as a surprise that the ruling dispensation has maintained silence over Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai’s proposal to set up AIIMS at South district hospital. Both CM Pramodbab Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajitbab Rane have batted for a private medical college at the district hospital. The moot question, however, remains unanswered – is the government going ahead with the proposal to set up a private medical college at the district hospital in an election year when the Goa Forward chief has threatened to make the issue not just in Salcete, but across South Goa issue. Wait and watch.
