Centre’s New Year gift to Karnataka on Mhadei only brought back memories of how the government headed by former CM late Manoharbai Parrikar had sought to placate the neighbouring state ahead of the Assembly polls five years ago. That Manoharbai took over the reins of CM with the support of the Goa Forward Party headed by Vijaibab Sardesai did not stop the former CM to write a letter to the then Karnataka BJP chief B S Yediyurappa. Goa Forward MLA Vinodbab Palyekar was the then WRD Minister in the Parrikar dispensation, but he and his party chief too could not stop Parrikar from writing the letter to the Karnataka BJP.
