It was a week when Goa Forward Party chief Vijaibab Sardesai went to the town tom tomming that he would not hesitate to contest from Diggu’s fiefdom Margao. The announcement makes reading interesting for the reason that Vijaibab, in the initial stages of political career, had planned to contest from Margao, but had to back out after his claim for the Congress ticket in the 1999 polls did not find favour with the party leadership. Well, one who did not take kindly to PWD Minister Nileshbab Cabral’s visit to Tolleaband to take stock of the bypass issue without keeping him in the loop, Venzybab, sources said, is closely monitoring the unfolding developments. Last time round, when Vijaibab had met Gadkari in Delhi with the Benaulim bypass issue, Venzybab was left fuming, even taking on the Goa Forward chief, saying unlike others he is not a member of the NDA or its ex-member to call on Union Ministers. Wait and watch.

During his stint as MLA, Churchillbab had all along insisted on the desilting of the river Sal and strengthening of the river embankments for quick flow of rain water. With Pandey raising similar questions on river Sal in the absence of quick drainage of rain water facility, don’t be surprised if Churchillbab replies to his detractors in his own inimitable fashion who had accused him for not pursuing the bypass on stilts.
