Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda beat Don Bosco Oratory of Fatorda 6-5 via the tiebreaker to emerge champions of the Lourdes Cup football tournament of Ambelim SC played at Ambelim football ground. The teams were tied 1-1 at the normal time.
Cliff Barreto gave the lead to DBO while Shrine Clemente equalised for Fr Agnelo YSC. In the tiebreaker, Rohan Gaunkar, Omkar Gaunkar, Denzil Vaz, Maclyod D’Costa and Shrine Clemente scored for Fr Agnelo YSC while Francis Andrade, Veliston D’Souza, Hanslum Furtado and Velton D’Souza found the target for DBO Fatorda.
Individual prizes: Best striker “ Hanslum Furtado (DBO Fatorda), best goalkeeper “ Paresh Gaunkar (Fr Agnelo YSC), best defender “ Savio Vales (Fr Agnelo YSC), best midfielder “ Cliff Barreto (DBO Fatorda), best player of final “ Shrine Clemente (Fr Agnelo YSC), best-disciplined team “ Betalbatim Sporting. Fr Camilo Dias, Chaplain of Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, Ambelim was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of other dignitaries and club officials.
