FC Bengaluru United have signed former Vasco SC central midfielder Denil Rebello ahead of their Second Division I-League campaign.
The 23-year-old from Chinchinim started his youth career with Salgaocar FC and featured in the GFA age-group tournaments and the Goa Pro League in the 2019-20 season. This is where he built the foundation of his career under coach Anthony Pereira. Denil spent the 2020-21 season with Vasco SC, impressing with a string of solid performances that also included two goals.
“My coach Micky Fernandes, team manager and other staff have supported me in every possible way. I am grateful to them. The last season with Vasco was one of immense experience,” Rebello told 'The Goan' on Saturday.
“I will work extremely hard to be more involved in the coming seasons and deliver for FC Bengaluru. We can’t take anything for granted in football. It will be a fresh start,” he added.
“I will miss Vasco SC but I am really excited for my new journey. I am eager to keep learning with FC Bengaluru United. I feel really good having signed for the club. I am looking forward to getting back on the pitch,” Rebello said. “My aim is to qualify for the I-League along with Goan mates Hayden Fernandes and Jaison Vaz.”
