A brilliant, unbeaten century by Raj Raghwani (142* off 150 balls) anchored Gujarat into a dominant position against Goa on Day 1 of the Men's U-23 Multidays Practice League Match at the Gujarat College Cricket Ground A.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Gujarat faced early trouble when Maulyarajsinh Chavda fell for a duck in the very first over. However, solid top-order contributions from opening batsman Malay V Shah (70) and Manas Dave (51) steadied the innings.
Goa's bowlers struck back in the middle overs, reducing Gujarat to 210/7 as Rahul Vishwakarma, Deep Kasvankar, and Anuj Yadav bagged two wickets each. But Raghwani took control of the game, launching an aggressive counter-attack smashed with 10 boundaries and 7 towering sixes. He combined with Kavyan Patel (59*) for an unbroken 173-run partnership for the 8th wicket, pushing the total to a formidable 383/7 in 90 overs at stumps.
