The event also featured the felicitation of two advocates, Yogesh Nadkarni and Yogesh Hirve, in recognition of their contributions to the legal fraternity and their association with cricket.
Describing Sunday’s auction as a grand success, Agha said all eight teams had assembled strong squads after carefully selecting their players. He expressed confidence that the upcoming edition would be successful, following the success of the previous seven editions.
Agha also highlighted the participation of newly enrolled lawyers and state-level players, expressing hope that talented cricketers would use the league as a platform to progress to club cricket and higher levels of the game.
He announced that the finals would be played under lights at the MCC Ground on January 17.
Adv Nadkarni, while thanking the ACL committee for the lifetime achievement award, said he was honoured by the recognition and appreciated the opportunities the league provides to lawyers. He noted that the tournament fosters camaraderie among advocates, who may oppose one another in court but share friendships beyond professional and sporting contests.
Adv Hirve also thanked the Advocates Association and Adv Agha for the honour, expressing his gratitude for the recognition.
