After clinching the Goa Futsal League title in dominant fashion, Ambelim Sports Club are once again set to carry the State’s hopes on the national stage as they prepare to compete in the AIFF Futsal Club Championship 2024-25, scheduled from August 3 to 18 at the Shri Manoj Sarkar Stadium – Shivalik Hall in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand.
This will be Ambelim’s second consecutive appearance in India’s premier futsal competition, and the reigning State champions are eager to go further than last year’s impressive semi-final finish.
Ambelim have been placed in Group D alongside Kerala’s Real Malabar FC Kondotty, Odisha’s OGP Club, and TOFA. The group stage promises to be tightly contested, with the top two teams progressing to the quarter-finals.
Ambelim will open their campaign on August 8 against Real Malabar FC Kondotty in a prime-time 7.30 pm fixture, followed by matches against OGP Club on August 10 and TOFA on August 12.
The tournament features 17 teams from across the country, drawn into four groups — three with four teams and one with five. Defending champions Corbett FC will be looking to make history by becoming the first team to win the title twice, while other past champions include Delhi FC and Minerva Academy FC.
