Playing clinical cricket, Nashik Cricket Academy annihilated CCI Belgaum by eight wickets in the finals of Late Bhikoo Pai Angle All India Under-15 cricket tournament organised by Margao Cricket Youth Club, at SAG ground, Fatorda on Saturday.
The Nashik bowlers exploited the damp morning pitch as CCI opted to bat after winning the toss. The Belgaum team lost wickets at regular intervals, to be eventually bowled out for 69 in 26 overs. Only Siddharth (13), Sriesh (11) Vivek (17) could manage to get into double
figures.
Ravindra Maccha (4/20) and Sahil (4/19) spun a web around the CCI batsmen, while Parth and Pranit claimed one wicket each.
Batting on a drier pitch, Nashik scored 70 for 2 in 10 overs to earn a facile victory. Sharvin Kisave scored an unbeaten 39. Nikhil and Shubham claimed one wicket each.
Ravindra Maccha was adjudged as the Player of the tournament, Saahil earned the Man of the final award while Rohit Patil was named as the Best batsman of the tournament and Nikhil was adjudged as the Best bowler of the tournament.
Dr Venkatesh Hegde, a great admirer of Bhikoo Pai Angle, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes.
