'Bad connectivity hurt Goa ticket sales'

"Goa is a special case. If you go to Goa, there is huge connectivity issue. So we want to ensure that no one misses out on the World Cup and there will be big teams like Brazil playing in Goa," Bhattacharjya said during a press conference in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Bhattacharjya said that the football fans of Kolkata, who have missed out on booking tickets for the World Cup final, scheduled on October 28, will get another chance in the fourth phase of ticket sales, beginning October 6 when the tournament kicks off. All the tickets, approximately 35,000, have been sold out in three phases for the Salt Lake Stadium summit clash but Bhattacharjya said there were still some left, which would be sold in the fourth phase.
"All tickets in three phases are sold out but that does not mean there are no more tickets," he said.
Overwhelmed by the response of Kolkata fans, the FIFA local organising committee will release more tickets in the denominations of Rs 80, Rs 200, Rs 400 and Rs 800 (Category 4 to 1) on October 6.
Bhattacharjya also confirmed that the ticket sales in Delhi for the India matches witnessed massive interest for the group A games, also involving Ghana, USA and Colombia.
"Sales in Delhi has definitely picked up after it was announced that India will play at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the capital. But there's still a long way to go," he said.
