PANAJI: A three-day residential clinic for Preliminary and Intermediate Badminton Coaches was held recently at Multipurpose Hall, Fatorda. In all, 25 participants successfully completed the clinic which was organized by Goa Badminton Association (GBA) in collaboration with SAG under the expertise of SAG Coaches Roy Ataide and Vinayak Kamat. Demonstrations on the fundamental, physical, technical and tactical elements of badminton, fitness and diet modules over theory and practical sessions were held.There were early morning exercises with warm up, agility and cooling down which was by demonstrations on footwork, stroke play and court drills during the course of the day. Best young participant prizes were awarded to Nilesh Parab, Riddesh Madgaonkar and Preston Jacques. The certification course was hosted by Margao Shuttlers Club (MSC). Vaman Fallary, President (MSC), Ritupurna Kulkari, Ex India International Player and Coach, Manoj Dukle, member (MSC), Sandeep Heble, Secretary, GBA and Coaches Roy Ataide and Vinayak Kamat graced the closing function. DBO Summer camp for girls from April 4
PANAJI: Don Bosco Oratory, Panaji will be organizing a Special Summer Coaching Camp for Girls of the age from 10 to 16 at the Don Bosco School Grounds,Panjim Commencing from 4th April,2017. The Special Summer Football Coaching Camp for Girls will be held thrice a week i.e. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 5.00pm to 6.00pm for a Duration of Two Months

Ghumteshwar, Pappu XI enter quarters
MARGAO: Ghumteshwar CC and Pappu XI booked their places in the last eight stage of the 11th Babu Brothers All Goa T-20 cricket tournament organized by Babu Brothers Sports Association at SAG practice grounds, Fatorda on Monday.Ghumteshwar Warrior gained a walkover as Kamuli United failed to turn up. In the second match, Pappu XI defeated title aspirants SKC Warriors by 34 runs.Batting first, Pappu XI scored 148 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, SKC Warriors’ innings was dismissed for 114 runs. Sufiyan Mulla, who scored 78 runs and later took 3 wickets for 25 runs, was adjudged Man-of-the-Match.
Stamina SC beat NIO Staff CC by 135 runs
MARGAO: Powered by Sachin Kurpaskar’s fine century and a 5-wicket haul for just 19 runs by Chandrakant Naik helped Stamina Sports Club to defeat NIO Staff Cricket Club by 135 runs in the Bardez Zone ‘C’ Division cricket tournament. At Colvale grounds, batting first, Stamina piled up huge total of 273 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs. In reply, NIO Staff Cricket Club’s innings was dismissed by Stamina SC bowlers for just 138 runs.
Damodar stars for Betalbatim CC
MARGAO: Damodar Redkar scored a breezy 107 off 78 balls as Betalbatim Cricket Club beat Vijay Cricket Club by 4 wickets in aC Division South Goa Cricket tournament at Sanguem. Batting first, Vijay CC scored 217 for 7 in their allotted 40 overs. In reply, Betalbatim CC reached home in the 32nd over losing six wickets.
