Chapora Yuvak Sangh drubbed ABC Arambol 6-1 to enter the final of the GFA 3rd Division playoff finals, played at Duler stadium here on Saturday.
Chapora started earnestly and went into the breather leading to 2-1. As early as in the eighth minute of play, a long ball at the goal by Chapora’s Pundalik Naik was misjudged by Arambol keeper Aniket Gadekar and the ball entered the goal, 1-0.
Chapora further extended their lead in the 23rd minute, Pundalik did the spade work and placed the ball on a platter to Nehal Parsekar who placed the ball into the nets to make it 2-0. In the very next minute, Chapora should have netted in their third goal when Marvoti Horizon snatched the ball from an Arambol defender but failed to beat the Arambol keeper in a one to one situation.
Chapora were reduced to ten men in the 35th minute with the sending off of Navin Shirodkar for a double booking (hand balls).
Arambol managed to reduce the margin in the 45th minute where a cross by Manuel Rodrigues was smartly headed into the goal by Cyprian Rodrigues, 1-2.
On crossing over, Chapora netted their third goal. A free kick by Vinayak rebounded off Arambol’s goal post and rolled to Stephen who stabbed the ball into the nets, 3 -1.
There was no looking back for Chapora where Marvoti Horizon netted a brace with Nehal Parsekar completing the rout, 6 -1.
Marvoti Horizon received the man of the match award.
