Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar and Director General of Police Jaspal Singh on Tusday, visited the Nehru Stadium, Fatorda ahead of preparations for the 37th National Games 2023 which is scheduled to be held from October 26.
His visit aimed to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted progression of the stadium readiness to host this prestigious event. This highlights the significance of the Stadium in Goa's holistic approach to ensuring the success of the games.
Kumar said that he had reviewed the preparations and almost 95 percent has been completed and told them to give finishing touches to the stadium and instructed the authorities to clean in and around the stadium.
‘Elaborate arrangements have been made keeping in mind factors such as the movement of more than 10,000 spectators at the stadium," Kumar added.
Jaspal Singh DGP said that he reviewed the security preparations and directed the police to take all necessary steps to ensure that no untoward incident takes place during the match.
South Goa District Collector Ashwin Chandru, South Suptd of Police Abhishek Dhania, Ajit Roy Sports Secretary, Agna Cletus, Deputy Collector were also present.
