Cris Boys emerged victorious in the Curchorem Champions Trophy 2.0, defeating Kakoda Boys by a convincing margin of 42 runs in the final match held at FoxStone Ground, Kakoda. The tournament was organized by Star Boys of Curchorem and sponsored by Shri Nilesh Cabral.
Electing to bat first, Cris Boys capitaliSed on a scintillating knock by Mohit Gaonkar to post a competitive total of 102 runs on the board in their allotted 8 overs. Despite battling a hairline fracture, Gaonkar displayed remarkable courage and stroke-making ability, smashing a quickfire 49 runs off just 19 deliveries. The rest of the Cris Boys batting line-up chipped in with valuable contributions to ensure a strong foundation for their bowling attack.
In response, Kakoda Boys were unable to match the dominance of Cris Boys' batting display. Their chase faltered early on, and they could only manage 60 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 8 overs. The Cris Boys bowlers maintained tight lines and lengths, restricting the Kakoda Boys batsmen and clinching a comfortable victory.
