Dattatraya Strikers won the Adpai Super League cricket tournament played at Wadi Talawali. The runners-up title went to Sai Cricketers. Soumesh Naik, Mayur Naik, Karan Naik and Vaibhav Naik were awarded the Man of the Series and Man of the Match awards respectively. Sunil Naik, Anant Naik, Nandan Naik, Yogesh Naik presented prizes to the winners. Hanuman Cricketers and Naitik Cricketers, who lost in the semifinals, were also awarded prizes.
Karate: TKAG team wins 10 medals
The Goa team fielded by Traditional Karate Association of Goa won 10 medals at the WIKA West Zone Karate Championships held at Anand, Gujarat recently. The team secured one gold, four silver and 5 bronze medals.
The team was led by Sensei Joseph Rodrigues, president of TKAG and general secretary of WIKA, and Sensei Mahendra Naik, referee council member. Sensei Aaron Gomes, Sensei Stephen Shaktivel, Sensei Ramesh Azgaonkar officiated as referees/judges and Sensei Sandeep Kandokar, Sensei Vasant Mistry and Sensei Stanlee Stephen were the team coaches.
Results: Lubna Khan (Kumite gold), Dorian Fernandes (Kumite silver), Jynelle Dsouza (Kumite silver), Siya Talwadkar (Kata silver), Eknath Azgaonkar (Kata silver, Kumite bronze), Gautami Talekar (Kata bronze), Gauravi Talekar (Kata bronze, Kumite bronze), Sukhlesh Shirodkar (Kumite bronze).
