Delite Titans convincingly beat Mapusa Dream Crushers by 63 runs in the Desserts n More Sarsangan Super Series Cricket at Arlem Cricket Ground.
Put in to bat, Delite Titans were given a rousing start by the two openers Anish Prabhu Mahambrey 51 (25 balls, 6 x 4s, 1 x 6s) and Deval Karmali 37 (32 balls, 3 x 4s and 1 x 6s) who put on 82 runs for the opening wicket in only 39 balls, to lay the foundation of a mammoth total. Even the retirement of Anish did not stop the run flow as Gaurish Bhende smashed 44 (22 balls, 6 x 4s, 1 x 6s) to add another 64 runs in 38 balls for the 2 nd wicket, as the score read 146/2 in the 13 th over.
Though the introduction of Rakesh Mallya stemmed the run flow as he picked 3 wickets in quick time, Pranav Kamat 16 and Avinash Kossambe 29 not out made sure that Delite Titans put up a massive 213/6 in 20 overs. Rakesh Mallya 3-35 and Sarvesh Kamat 1-35 were the successful bowlers.
Chasing 214, Sarvesh Kamat started on a promising note as he smashed 42 (20 balls, 6 x 4s, 1 x 6s) with support from Pankaj Naik 15 and Rauji Kakodkar 25. However rest of the Mapusa Dream Crushers batters did not rise to the occasion as Amit Naik Burye 10 and Sarvesh Sinari 10 were the only two to offer some resistance against the Delite Titans. Rakesh Mallya remained not out on 14 as Mapusa Dream Crushers finished at 150/8 in their 20 overs, giving Delite Titans a 63 run win.
Gomakant Mahambrey with figures of 3-0-11-2 was the pick of the bowlers along with Vishnu Namshikar who took 2-20. Arsh Sardesai, Samruddh Hegde Desai, Nikhil Virgincar and Pradip Shetye picked a wicket apiece.
The wicket keeper Anish Prabhu Mahambrey was awarded the Desserts n More Man of the Match medal and the Estilo Moderno Realty Man of the Match trophy along with a cash prize of Rs.2000 for his brilliant batting and effecting 2 catches behind the stumps for the Delite Titans.
