Goan duo progress at Elite Boxing Nationals

Rohit Sharma and Mithilesh Sharma have kept Goa's hopes alive at the ongoing second Elite Men's National Boxing Championship
in Visakhapatnam.
Goa's Rohit beat Litu Das of Odisha in the Light Welter-weight (64kg) category. This victory was followed by the success of Mithilesh, who got the better of Rahul of AIP in the Welter-weight (69kg) category. However, Sairaj Pauskar could not continue this winning streak by the Goans, and went down to Aditya Mann of Chandigarh in the Middle-weight (75kg) event.
On Wednesday, Goa's Anup Prasad had gone down to Himanshu Sharma of Punjab in the Light-Fly weight (49kg) category while in the Fly-weight (52kg) event, Goa's Umesh Chavan was beaten by Laldinwaima of Mizoram.

Goa are staring at a big loss against Punjab in their Ranji Trophy Group D match, after losing both their openers in the follow-on innings at the end of third day's play at Goa Cricket Association academy ground at Porvorim.
