Archana Sharma from Mapusa did the country proud by bagging the silver medal in the Seniors Female (21 years & older) -55kgs Fighting system (Combat) by defeating strong contenders from hosts Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan only to lose in the finals after a tough bout against an experienced Thai, Siramol Deepudsa.

The 25-year-old recently bagged gold and silver at the 2nd Ju-Jitsu Nationals held at Delhi under the aegis of Ju-Jitsu Association of India (JAI). The 2nd Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship 2017 held at Hanoi, Vietnam from August 10-14 was her very first representation at the international event. Sharma will be representing India in the Ju-Jitsu event at the Asian Indoor Martial Art Games to be held at Turkmenistan in mid September, 2017, which has been cleared at no cost to Government. Goa's Angela R Naik and Cdr. CM Bhatia after completing the Referee Refresher Course, refereed at the 2nd Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship at Hanoi, Vietnam.
With Derrick Pereira's charges having got three weeks of full training under their belt, the club took on the likes of Vasco Sports Club and Sporting Club de Goa in friendlies on Friday and Saturday respectively.
