The Guadian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem gave their fans plenty to celebrate at the Panchayat ground, Raia on Wednesday with an impressive 2-1 win over Vasco Sports Club in the Goa Pro League. Striker Maclon Colaco scored both the goals for the Curchorem side while Vasco scored through striker Agnelo D’Souza.
Guardian Angel started with a bang, striking in the first minute when Maclon picked up the ball from Austern Fernandes from the flank and unleashed a snap shot to beat goalkeeper Jerson Pereira.
However their joy was short-lived as five minutes later Vasco cancelled the lead through diminutive striker Agnelo D’Souza. A free kick taken by Nigerian striker Chinedu Emanuel kissed the crossbar and Agnelo pounced on the rebound to beat Guardian Angel goalkeeper Agnelo Gomes.
The match went into the break with the scoreline level at 1-1.
Maclon who was in thick action struck the match winner in the 79th minute when he smashed home a stinging shot into the roof off a good off pass from Ashley Araujao.
