Hosts Union of Chinchinim Villagers blanked CAC Cansaulim 2-0 to enter the semifinals of the Fr Bruno Leitao Memorial inter-village football tournament played at OL of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim on Monday.
Shario Gomes netted the first goal of the match for Union of Chinchinim Villagers in the 19th minute. In the second half, Charles Fernandes netted the second goal for Chinchinim in the 49th minute. Shario Gomes of Union of Chinchinim Villagers was awarded the Man of the Match prize.
Damodar HSS win tug of war double
Damodar Higher Secondary School, Gudi Paroda were crowned champions of Zone IV under-19 tug of war tournament organised by DSYA at Borimoll Sports Complex, Quepem.
In the boys finals, Damodar defeated AVMPS Hr Secondary of Vazangal, Shiroda by 2-0 pulls. In the girls finals, Damodar defeated CTN HSS of Curchorem by 2-0 pulls.
