Top ten teams from Goa will vie for top honours at the 3rd All Goa MB United Floodlit Volleyball tournament organized by MB United Sports and Cultural Club, Murida, Cuncolim from May 5 to 7 at the volleyball court at Murdia.
The participating teams are Goa Police, Kulmaya Sports Club (Bicholim), KK Boys of Santa Cruz, Om Shiv Shambu, Dhargal United, Pujari Six (Vasco), Colony Boys (Honda), Maina Six, Rising Star of Taleigao and Valpoi United. While the winners will be awarded Rs 50,000 along with a trophy, the runners-up will be richer by Rs 30,000 along with a trophy. The third place winners will bag Rs 15,000.
Speaking at a press conference to announce the event, the president of MB United Sports and Cultural Club, Swatantra Dessai said, "MB United is set to organise the extremely popular tournament once again. Goa should get ready to once again witness the fiery air affair.
"All the teams have confirmed their participation. The volleyball loving public in Goa will be treated to top notch volleyball action," he said, adding that the club has been actively involved in volleyball for the last three years and the organisation of the tournament has seen a huge spurt in attendance from the locals.
Aquino Dias, Clan Dias and Shekhar Dessai were also present for the press conference.
