Om Barde won the third Dr Shambu S Dhulapkar memorial all-Bardez rapid chess tournament. The tournament was organised by Bardez Taluka Chess Association alongwith Sridora Caculo College, at Caculo College Library hall, Khorlim. Barde with Elo rating of 1445, is a student of St. Britto’s High School. He had also won the Dhulapkar Memorial tournament in 2016.
Suhas Asnodkar (Elo-1777) emerged runner-up. The third place was clinched by Kunal Naik (Elo-1298). A total of 72 players participated in the tournament, which included 12 FIDE Elo-rated players. Taneja H S at 82 years, was the oldest player in the tournament.Kambli Raju, Anuragh Adwalpalkar, Paarth Salvi, Aaryan Arolkar, Sholk Dhulapkar, Sayuri Naik, Prashant Salvi claimed fourth to 10th placings respectively.
