Quepem Veterans thrashed Navelim Veterans 3-0 to march into the semifinals of 1st All Goa Veterans football tournament organised by Texas Boys, Varca at Varca ground, on Monday.
Quepem Veterans rocked the rival citadel in the 23rd minute when Vincent Barbosa found the net. Navelim Veterans went into the match fancying their chances but were unable to produce a game which could trouble the opposition. Quepem had little alarms in the first half as they went into the break with a one-goal lead.
Crossing over, it was the same pattern as Quepem attacked their rivals from both the flanks. Former Salgaocar midfielder Francis Andrade doubled the lead for Quepem before Remmy Baretto found the third goal with his stiff shot that crashed into
the net.
Mario Rebello of Navelim Veterans was adjudged as the Man of the Match.
On Wednesday, Assolda Veterans will take on Chinchinim Veterans in the third quarterfinals match.
