Raitura Sports Club started the game in a whirlwind fashion and sounded a warning to the rival team when Don Fernandes picked up the ball from Floyd Cardozo and the former sped into the rival box only to see the rival goalkeeper rising to the occasion to avert the danger.
Don Fernandes opened the floodgates in the 6th minute when he punished the rival goalkeeper with a free-kick. In the 9th minute, Oilex Oliveira doubled the lead with a power-packed shot off Melroy Dias’ pass.
Crossing over, it was a one way traffic as Flyod Cardozo added his name on the scorers’ list in the 46th minute. Anjuna Gymkhana scored the consolation goal through Rohan Kamble in the 49th minute.
Unfazed, Raitura Sports Club went into attacking mode and in the 52nd minute Oilex Olveira struck a second time to register his brace.
Raitura Sports Club took home a winners purse of Rs 40,000 and a trophy while the runners-up pocketed Rs 30,000 plus trophy.
Sports Minister, Babu Azgaonkar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Mauvin Godinho, Minister of Panchyats and Alina Saldhana, Cortalim MLA. Guilford Fernandes,President of the club welcomed and Jack Colaco introduced the players to the guests.
