Ruhaan poised for double crown

Set to face Yug in U13 and Chandan in U15 finals

Promising young paddler Ruhaan Shaikh is poised for a double crown as he stormed into both the U13 and U15 Boys finals at the 7th Mangeshi All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, displaying remarkable skill and composure.

In the U13 final, top seed Ruhaan will face second seed Yug Prabhu after a solid 3-1 semifinal win over Vedant Wagle, while Yug breezed past Yuvaan Sanke 3-0. Earlier in the quarters, Ruhaan downed Ashank Dalvi 3-0, Vedant beat Aarish Shaikh 3-0, Yuvaan edged out Ishaan Colaso 3-2, and Yug overcame Noel Kurian 3-0.

In the U15 category, Ruhaan, seeded third, stunned second seed Dhruva Kamat in a thrilling 3-2 semifinal to set up a high-voltage title clash with top seed Chandan Caro, who reached the final with a dominant 3-0 win over Vedant Wagle.

Ruhaan had earlier defeated Yug Prabhu 3-1 in the quarters, while Chandan got past Ishaan Colaso 3-0, Vedant beat Vivaan Prabhudesai 3-1, and Dhruva overcame Aayush Sahakari 3-0.

Hosted at V.D. & S.V. Wagle High School, the tournament is being conducted by the Mangirish Vidyadayini Samstha in association with the Wagle High School Diamond Jubilee Celebration Committee, under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association, as a key highlight of the school’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
