Sao Jose de Areal stormed into the quarterfinals of the 34th Curtorim Panchayat Cup All Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament with a convincing 4-0 win over Betalbatim Sporting Club at Curtorim Church ground.
Areal took the lead as early as the fifth minute when Jagdish Nalkan found the net after receiving a pass from Sam Moura. Moura then doubled the advantage in the eighth minute, finishing after being set up by Josly Gomes.
Areal continued to dominate and added a third in the 19th minute through Nalkan, who scored from close range. Areal went into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.
Josly Gomes completed the scoring in the 55th minute with a powerful shot that gave the Betalbatim goalkeeper no chance. Betalbatim's defence remained shaky throughout as Areal maintained control.
Francisco Xavier Fernandes, Panchayat member of Curtorim Village Panchayat, was the chief guest and presented the Man of the Match award to Areal's Jagdish Nalkan.
