St Anthony High School, Duler - Mapusa won the girls title, while Holy Cross High School, Bastora - Mapusa claimed the boys championship at the North District under-17 hockey tournament organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at Peddem Sports Complex,
Mapusa.
St Anthony girls drubbed Our Lady of Rosary High School, Dona Paula 14-0 in the finals. They have now qualified for the State finals. Veena Naik and Riya Salgaonkar did most of the damage, netting four goals each, while Nikita Naik (3), Khushi Harmalkar (2), Divya Kumawat (1) were the
other scorers.
Meanwhile in the boys section, Holy Cross High School, Bastora - Mapusa defeated Fr Agnel High School, Pilar by a comfortable 2-0 margin in the finals to qualify for the State finals. Faruq Choudhary and Sahil Chari scored the goals for the
winning team.
