In the final played at Government School playground, Cuncolim, St Jude High School dominated the game, especially in the first half, with their forwards and midfielders working well in tandem to put pressure on the rival citadel.
The pressure produced the first goal midway in the opening stanza as striker Shelton Pinto beat the Marina English High School goalkeeper with a nice placement. Spurred by the lead, St Jude High School upped the ante and doubled the lead when Rajasab Sheikh punted the ball to the far corner of the net.
At the other end, Marina English High School were subdued for long spells and were confined to their own half. Crossing over, Marina English High School seemed a transformed side and showed composure and a few good passing bouts. Cidroy D'Souza reduced the deficit soon after resumption when he punted the ball home.
The reducer boosted the morale of the lads from the Verna school and 10 minutes before the long whistle, Antush Moniz found the equaliser with a snap shot, 2-2. St Jude High School had the last laugh in the penalty shootout.
