PANAJI: The taekwondo competition at the 37th National Games underway in Goa is under a cloud after the Delhi High Court passed an order to hold fresh trials to select players. The court said those players who did not get a chance to qualify for the National Games be given a chance to secure qualification, keeping aside the dispute between multiple national federation factions.
The court ordered that “in the interest of justice”, Taekwondo Federation of India should conduct fresh trials for selecting one player in each weight category for both male and female category except for 67 Kg female category. Players already selected are also eligible for trials.
