Sunday's Hero of the Match, Romeo Fernandes credited coach Zico for giving him the opportunity against Delhi Dynamos, which he managed to make the best use of by scoring a match-winning brace in the 3-2 win.
Romeo's efforts followed bt Jofre's late winner allowed the Gaurs to cement the top spot with 25 points from 14 matches and will face Delhi again in the semis.
"It feels amazing. The boys played really well,"Romeo said in a post-match chat.
Romeo's role was that of a cameo as he came in the second half and scored two goals to turn the match around. Asked what did Zico tell him, Romeo said: "Zico gave me a great opportunity, to go and play my own game. While addressing the team, he told us to play well and draw the match so that we can play (the first leg of the semi-final) here again.
When asked how important was it to finish at the top, the FC Goa player said: "It’s great to be on top. Feels nice to enter the semi-finals as well."
