MARGAO
The 33rd edition of the Super Soccer Football tournament, dedicated to the late Joao Francisco Fernandes and organized by United Boys of Dando Colva, is set to kick off on June 22 at Dando Ground in Benaulim.
Participating teams include St Jose de Areal, DBO Fatorda, Fr Agnel Paroda, CAC Cansaulim, Maina SC Curtorim, Varca SC, St Anthony Assolda, Navellim Villagers, Parish Youth Nuvem, Guardian Angel Sanvordem, UC Benaulim, and the host team UBD Colva.
The winners of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with a trophy, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs 35,000 and a trophy. Additionally, individual prizes will be distributed to recognize outstanding performances throughout the tournament.
The inaugural match will see Anthony Leo Fernandes gracing the occasion as the chief guest and Andrew Ferrao honoured as the guest of honour.
