The Season 1 3x3 INBL begun in gusto despite the rains, to a changed indoor venue at Don Bosco Oratory, Panaji. The INBL season 1 is being held by Basketball Federation of India (BFI) in 20 venues around the country, with presently Hyderabad and Goa taking place simultaneously, from Friday.
The Season 1 in Panaji has a record participation in the state with a 107 teams playing in four events: Senior and under 18, men and women categories. The online registrations of the teams recorded 40 men's teams, 28 under-18 men's teams, 16 under-18 women's teams and 12 women’s teams in all.
The matches will be played on a league cum knock out basis. This is by far the largest participation of basketball in Goa giving a feast of skill, talent and competition to basketball lovers in the State.
In the first day games, Swisshh, Warana Swaggers, Warana Ballers, Challengers, Panthers, Net Rippers recorded their first wins in the under-18 women's category. In the under under-18 men's, Goa Bulls defeated BSC Pune (16-15), Kamikaze defeated Altos Ballers (13-9), and Bulls defeated Prince United (22-12).
The league round will qualify the best teams to vie for the coveted position to represent Goa at the 3x3 INBL Finals to be held in Bengaluru in early June. The game schedule is available on play.fiba3x3.com.Matches begin at 9 am and will conclude for the day at 8.30 pm.
