Goa's Anura Prabhu Desai, who is the brand ambassador of Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd, won a bronze in the team event at Central Zone badminton championship 2022.
The Ponda girl, representing the Indian Railways team thereafter won a silver in the individual women's singles. She defeated Rituparna Das of PSPB 21-18, 17-21, 21-19 in the semifinals.
In a closely contested final, Anura went down fighting to Ashmita Chaliha of PSPB 21-16,11-21,18-21 to settle for a silver. Anura is presently training at the Khelo India Centre at Campal.
