Bandoi Boys defeated TP Boys in the finals of the 7-a-side all Cavelossim tournament organised by Miracles Boys Mobor.
After a goalless first half, Asher Rodrigues of Bandoi Boys gave his team the lead with a powerful header, with TP Boys keeper Rosario Monterio diving to the wrong side. Flenco Rodrigues then scored to make it 2-0 for Bandoi Boys.
Raju Cardozo and Orlando Cardozo played well for TP Boys while Flenco and Asher played well for Bandoi. Fr Ubaldo Fernandes, Parish Priest was the chief guest, while James Barreto and Julio Fernandes, both ex-panchas of VP Cavelossim, and Noby Barreto, Prop of Cris Cruise, were the guests of honour.
Prizes: Hat-trick of the tournament - Warren Barreto of Khandi Rising Stars, Inaugural goal of the tournament - Ashely Pinto of BDG & PAK, Player of the final - Asher Rodrigues, Player of the tournament - Brougum Vaz of Khandi Rising Stars. The winners were awarded Rs 5,555 and a trophy donated by James Barreto, prop of James Cafe Beach Hut, Cavelossim and runners-up were awarded Rs 3,333, donated by Rochus Barreto.
