MARGAO: Canacona Sports and Cultural Club beat Curtorim Gymkhana 7-6 via the tie-breaker to move to the next round of the Santa Cruz Club of Poitomado Cuncolim football tournament, at Poitomado ground, on Saturday.

Ronaldo Oliveira and Chaitan Komarpant netted a goal each for Canacona Sports and Cultural Club while Anseelem Fernandes and Ryan Fernandes netted a goal each for Curtorim Gymkhana.

In the tie-breaker, Canacona Sports and Cultural Club proved to be better shooters.

MARGAO: United Club Benaulim thumped Goa Velha SC 5-1 to enter the quarterfianls of the Curtorim Panchayat cup football tournament, at St Alex church ground, Curtorim, on Saturday.Keegan Fernandes netted a hat-trick while Arif and Luis Fernandes scored a goal each for UC Benaulim. Francis Afonso reduced the margin for Goa Velha SC.Keagan Fernandes of United Club of Benaulim was awarded the man of the match which was given by Mathew Hilario Panch of VP Curtorim.
