Customs Goa defeated GST Goa on penalties in an exhibition football match at Santa Cruz football ground on Tuesday.
GST Goa went up with a curling corner kick scored by Frankie Mascarenhas in the 10th minute before Uday Kumar made it 1-1 for Customs. In the second half, Customs went up 2-1 after captain Kishan Kholkar found the net. Saurabh Patil equalised for GST, 2-2.
With just 10 minutes to go, Customs went 3-2 up with a goal scored by Charles Miranda. GST equalised again through Ashrafali Makandar to make it 3-3.
In the tiebreaker, Customs won 5-4 as Stanley Colaco saved Narasimga Reddy's penalty kick. Individual prizes: Best defender - Saurabh Patil of GST, Best midfielder - Charles Miranda, Best goalkeeper - Subhash of Customs, Best striker - Frankie Mascarenhas, Man of the Match - Stanley Colaco of Customs.
Rosary HS students shine in Yoga Championship
Rosary High School, Cujira, Bambolim won the Inter-School Tiswadi Taluka U-14 Girls (team championship, first, second place in individual category) and the U-17 Boys won 2nd individual place in the Yoga Championship organised by DSYA.
