Fatima Convent girls team used their superior height and strength to overcome Lourdes Basketball Club Calangute 30-02 in the U-16 State Basketball championship being organised by Don Bosco Fatorda in association with the Goa Basketball Association.
Ace with 12 and Sanya with 10 points did the bulk of the scoring for the winning team.
The second match saw a boys matchup with Don Bosco High School Panaji overpowering Lourdes Basketball Club 38-14. Ryan with 14 played well for the winners, while Ethan with 7 points fought well for the losing side.
The third match of the day saw hosts Don Bosco Fatorda boys overcoming St Britto’s Mapusa 28-12. Nolan with 8 points for the hosts and Ashton with 6 points for the Mapusa team were the top scorers.
In the last match of the night, the Sonics boys team steam rolled over new comers AJ Almeida Ponda 48-04. Daniel with 23 and Conrad with 9 did the bulk of the scoring for the winners.
