Fr Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pillar defeated Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer & Management by 5 wickets in the Inter Collegiate Cricket Men Championship, organised by Goa University, at at Goa University cricket ground, Taleigao.
The toss was won by Vidya Prabodhini College and they opted to bat. Vidya Prabodhini College posted 123/8 in the allotted 20 overs. Saidutt Varadkar 35(34), Saish Tari 24(30) not out were the top scorers of the innings. Anuj Bhikoji and Nagvenkat Ponga scalped three wickets each Fr Agnel College
In reply, Fr Agnel College chased down the target in 17.5 overs. Rudra Gaonkar 32(24) not out, Pranav Naik 25(25) contributed to the Pillar College chase. Dattaraj Dalvi (2/05) was the most economical bowler for the opposition.
In the second match of the day, Government College Khandola, defeated GVM’s College of Farmagudi by 6 wickets.
After winning the toss, GVM’s College of Farmagudi were bundled out for 107 runs in 20 overs. Gaurang Gaonkar 36(39) was the top run getter while Farmagudi's Ved Patel (2/16) and Sankalp Prabhu (2/20) were the stars with the ball.
In reply, Government College Khandola held their nerve and finished the match in 18.2 overs. Rishab Phadte Gaonkar 28(28) and Shardul Shet 27(39) were the main contributors for Khandola while Tanish Kadekar (3/20) and Nischay Naik (3/21) were effortless with the ball for the Farmagudi College
On Monday, Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law defeated Vikas Parishad’s Mandrem College by 6 wickets while St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa defeated Goa College of Pharmacy by 8 wickets.
