The first-ever futsal tournament was organised only for Diocese of Goa priests on Sunday wherein 106 priests of Goa Religious & Diocesan participated in the Priests Futsal League Tournament organised by the Diocesan Priests Frs Franky, Doel and Milagres at Bulls Arena Futsal Ground Nagoa. In total, 8 teams participated in the tournament, and it was played on league basis, wherein each team had to play 4 matches and the top two teams with more points qualified for the semis. The first semi-finals were played between Capuchins led by Fr Jose and Young Shepherd led by Fr Juze msfs. The second semi-finals Pillar Society clashed against Cardinal Voice. The priest teams fought like warriors to seal a place in the finals. The two best teams in the finals were Cardinal Voice lead by Fr George Dias and Young Shepherd by Fr Juze msfs. From the very start, the Young Shepherd began their attacking play through Fr Mario and Synter. Through a penalty corner Fr Mario gave the lead to the Young Shepherd team. In the second half, Young Shepherd doubled the lead and ended victorious with score 3-0. Fr Synter the goal machine along with Joveur scored 1 each. The invitees were Sir Jerry, Francis D’Souza, Kennedy and Timothy Vaz. The prize was sponsored by Mario Fernandes of Nagoa Castelvaddo.
