PANAJI: The Goa University Chess Men's team achieved an impressive 8th position at the prestigious West Zone Inter-University Chess Men Championship 2024-25, organized by IES University, Bhopal.
In the individual board prizes, Ayush Shirodkar and Atharv Katkar from Goa University were awarded the ‘B’ Board and ‘C’ Board prizes of the championship respectively for their outstanding performances.
The championship witnessed participation from 69 university teams, showcasing fierce competition among the best chess talents in the region.
The Goa University Chess Men team comprised the following players: Atharv Katkar, Vinay Sutar, Vikas Naik, Zishan Khan, Aayush Shirodkar and Vishal Redkar
