Nuvem Sports Club registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Mandopa Sporting Club in the GFA First Division League at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Wednesday.
Nuvem Sports Club led 1-0 at the breather. The first half commenced with Nuvem Sports Club displaying their dominance in game right from the start as they launched a relentless attack against Mandopa SC creating various opportunities to take the lead early on, while successfully holding Mandopa SC at bay by denying them every opportunity to score.
Nuvem SC opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Cedar Colaco found the roof of the net giving no chance to the Mandopa goalkeeper Royal Schubert Moniz. Nuvem launched a flurry of attacks but their forwards misfired from close range.
The second half began with another attack by Nuvem SC as Amit Naik managed to intercept the ball from rival player and utilising this opportunity he made a run towards the post beating the defense of Mandopa SC and punted the ball to the far corner of the net in the 57th minute.
Nuvem displayed their attacking skills as the pressure to score a goal mounted up, and did create some opportunities but they found themselves shackled by the defense of Mandopa who held them back successfully each and every time.
In another attempt, substitute Francis Colaco showcased a well-coordinated teamwork Sarguru provided and he attempted a goal from center, inside the box but missed the ultimate target.
At the other end, Mandopa SC created few scoring chances but their efforts were nullified by the rival defenders.
